What to Expect

At Blue Spring Chiropractic, we want you to know what to expect on your first consultation if you decide to visit us. With chiropractic care, your body needs to experience a particular plan of care in order to repair itself accurately and completely. Below are the three general phases of chiropractic care.

Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could state that chiropractic care is somewhat similar to building a house – certain things need to occur in a specific request with the end goal for everything to remain strong and work together correctly. When building a house, on the off chance that you attempted to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be frail and eventually may even collapse. If you tried to build your rooftop before the walls were even ready, you would keep running into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body too, and chiropractic care addresses numerous reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body’s foundation, then that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body needs to experience a particular plan of care in order to repair itself accurately and completely. Below are the three general phases of chiropractic care.

  • Phase 1: Relief Care
  • Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care
  • Phase 3: Wellness Care
Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our clinic, our first objective is to help you reduce pain and start to feel better as soon as possible. Depending on the severity of the underlying condition which is causing your pain, it is typical for a patient to need chiropractic care or adjustments 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

During the corrective phase of chiropractic care, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, which helps prevent further injury or pain. The goal of corrective or restorative chiropractic care is to help bring your body back to 100% functioning. It is typical to need chiropractic care or adjustments about 4-8 times per month for 6-24 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has fully restored and you are no longer experiencing back pain or other symptoms or pain, it is important to come in for periodic chiropractic adjustments to prevent further problems in the future. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request you to complete our patient forms. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. You may also download our online forms here.

    Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors or Dr. Steve Baek for some instance to discuss your problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for our doctors to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

    Examination

After your consultation is through, our Doctors will perform a complete chiropractic examination to test your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

    X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-ray tests as well. X-rays help us develop the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan for you, and it may alert us with any serious spinal conditions.

    Phase 1: Relief Care

    Thumbs Up to Relief

Most of the people who are in pain go to a chiropractor. Initially, the main objective of a patient is to look for a quick relief and lessen the symptoms. Once diagnosed, they will be required to visit for the next couple of days, usually around two to three visits per week until they finally get better.

People who are not feeling any pain or any symptoms assume that there is nothing wrong with them and they are completely healthy. Later do they know the pain and other symptoms frequently appear after a certain condition has become advanced.

Let’s take a cavity in someone’s tooth for an instance. Some patients only go to their dentist if they experience a toothache, without realizing that their tooth has already acquired cavity. Regardless of the condition, may it be heart disease, diabetes, cancer, spine problems and much more, pain is usually the last thing to show up and it’s going to be too late already.

Don’t wait before it’s too late. Get yourself checked regularly even if you are not feeling any pain and symptoms. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

If you feel that there’s something wrong with your spine if you have been in a car accident without even feeling any pain, if you are experiencing muscle problems, a simple back or neck pain, get a quick relief and get yourself proper diagnosis at Blue Spring Chiropractic Center before it’s too late. Don’t wait for it to get worse. Remember, prevention is always better than cure.

    Teaming Up for Optimal Health

There are chiropractors that see the elimination of symptoms as the easiest portion of a person’s care. There are also some chiropractors that disregard their patient’s wellbeing after a couple of sessions with them. If these chiropractors sole objective is just to reduce the pain and completely stop there, chances are the condition and symptoms may occur once more. In order to prevent symptoms from reoccurring, it is necessary for chiropractors to continue giving care and guidelines to their patients even though the symptoms and pain are gone. With that, patients would attain complete wellness and they would also feel more valued.

At Blue Spring, while you are on a correction or restorative phase of your care, there’s no need for you to undergo adjustments as often as you did during the first phase of your care, but it will always depend on your condition. If you start feeling better, you may begin doing exercises and stretches either at the clinic or at your home to help you heal quickly.

There are occasions that you may experience mild flare-ups in your symptoms, so don’t get discouraged, it’s completely normal. Some flare-ups are expected to occur at this phase once in a while because your body has not fully been healed. It will depend on the severity of your condition, how long have you been suffering from it and how well your body responds from the regular treatment.

The entire Blue Spring Chiropractic team will be with you as you go through your journey to complete wellness. We will not be here just to treat your pain but we will always be here to make you feel completely better. Plus we will make sure you get the optimal health you really deserve.
